Russia prepares for export of fowl to EU


Russia prepares for export of fowl to EU and brings the quality monitoring system into accord with the European requirements, reported in the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance.
In particular, current week experts of bureau on the food and veterinary science of general management on health care and protection of the rights of consumers of the European Union were engaged in check of the monitoring system of production of the fowl intended for export to EU operating in Russia.
During check it became clear to provide ability of the monitoring system execution of the requirements provided by the legislation of the European Union, and performance by competent authorities of the Russian Federation of recommendations of the similar mission which has been carried out in 2009.
In department emphasized that representatives-inspectors working in the Belgorod region received idea of work of territorial administrations of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance and the Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights, the public veterinary service of the region. During check inspectors visited two  poultry fabric enterprises, one economy for cultivation of a bird and interregional veterinary laboratory, and also the Central scientific and methodical veterinary laboratory.

In the message of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance it is specified also that checking noted achievement «essential successes at implementation of recommendations of the previous mission that the part of these recommendations is executed completely, and the others are in a finishing stage of performance». Within a month the draft of the report based on the results of testing should arrive in the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance.

Statistically, for the last five years the Russian production of fowl increased by 75 %. Last year domestic poultry breeders began production export on the markets of the countries of South East Asia. Experts predict that increase in production of fowl will allow the Russian Federation to create an export potential of this production in 2012-2013.
